A rare VHS-footage from our very first public action, the insane happening dedicated to the number fifty-six.
Fun fact: the history of 56 Stuff as an art community started from an exhibition, and a rather strange one. Probably it’s more accurate to call it a kind of public statement which makes no obvious sense except for Fifty-six is an awesome number, woo-hoo!.
It was all about fifty-six: from the name of the event to its original soundtrack which had a tempo of 56 beats per minute. Fifty-six was the main theme and the protagonist of the whole endeavor. The space was filled with hundreds of seemingly unrelated objects, united only by fifty-six: be it a huge metal plate from a tram number 56 or a tiny 56-second sand glass.
Why exactly 56? The most informative answer we can give here is Why not?.
