For one of the events of our traveling series Music Take-Away, a group of art-delegates from 56 Stuff took a train and went to the nice town of Novgorod. Scaly Whale was among them, and he was not too lazy to bring along a complicated and weighty set of various electronic devices. Without limiting himself to just one luggage item, the artist packed even some fun additional tools for instance, a brick-shaped noise generator.
After visiting local historical sights, fellow musicians moved to a place of their main interest that day a cultural center called Dom. In Russian, this title means a house, and that was exactly it: a moderately big, standalone wooden building. Quite surprisingly for the ones not in the know, there was a fully-functional concert venue inside, with a proper sound system and a wide screen for video projections. As we love to play music at unusual places, that was a chance we couldn’t pass up.
Among other happenings of that spring evening, there was a live set by Scaly Whale. Thanks to modern digital technologies, you can feel the bright mood of that performance in the form of audio recording.
Recorded at Dom cultural center, Novgorod.
