The title In quarto refers to a book-printing term which ascents from Latin and basically means a quarter of a paper sheet. The reason for choosing this name is simply technical: Vladimir Kamaev aka Soamo usually cuts a sheet of paper in four parts and draws on obtained quarters.
Much more happens here on a contextual level. What the artist also cuts in parts are situations and ideas: he deconstructs them and then reassembles in new, different ways. Sometimes this process leads to surreal images, sometimes the results are relatively close to the so-called objective reality.
One way or another, viewers have an opportunity to exercise their minds by extracting emotions and thoughts from witty drawings. While reflecting on insightful and powerful demonstration of how a restraint set of tools can be unbounded in terms of meanings.
