In his projects Simon combines two kinds of work — he performs as a professional photographer and as a journalist-researcher at the same time. So, it’s better to read before watching — this is the way to experience the double effect.

Born and raised in Aarhus, Denmark. Began writing a novel at the age of 18 but gave it up later. In 2001 got a BA in photography from School of Media in London. Then moved to Copenhagen and began to work as a freelance photographer.

“Images are not enough — especially not if they are presented without words. Images need a context within which to be understood, and writing — as I see it — is very well suited to present that context. In other words: I feel a desire to fuse photography and literature. I tend to feel that images are too inarticulate if no text accompany them. I’ve always felt that. Photography is a medium people use to express how they see reality. I want to express how I see reality too but I cannot do this through images alone. I don’t think anyone can. I find it to be urgent to challenge my own ways. To challenge the way I have been working for a long time. Until this happens you can check out the projects I’ve done so far.”
