The intention behind this selection of tunes is to combine — in a balanced way, hopefully — easiness with experimentation, playfulness with interest and simplicity with abstruseness.
It still fits nicely within coffee shops and chill-out parties, but doesn’t have that sugariness common to music usually labeled as “restaurant lounge” and “easy listening”. Well, maybe it does, partly. But a certain amount of sophistication, peculiarity and irony has been added here. Thus, one can enjoy not only pleasing background melodies, but also listen to tracks attentively without risk of getting bored or disappointed.
